A Chapter a Day: Day 2 "The Red Deaths" by Seth Ervin Casey Eanes

                  A Chapter A Day: Day 2
                    "The Red Deaths" by Seth Ervin and Casey Eanes

The first chapter has been stuck in my head all day so I am thrilled to read the second one. Lets get going!

~~~~20 minutes later~~~~~~
I think he did it. I think Seam killed his father, the king. I found the bad guy I have been dying to love!
Ok, so in Chapter 2 we learn about the new king. (This is also not a spoiler because it says it on the back of the book so Ha!)
The previous king is dead, hence the war. This chapter was from Seam's, his son, point of view. Again, I love the name. It is weird but has a beautiful meaning. Right off the bat I got "bad guy" vibes from Seam. The way he responded to the funeral and all of the funky Alephian (The religion/culture in the book) rituals. Apparently Seam thought that he wouldn't feel all that bad when the king died because he was looking forward to being the king. He is captivated by the idea of him being king.
Which, I mean that is totally understandable. I think.. I don't know. I have never felt like taking care of a nation or "Realm" because I just don't like people that much, but I guess there are obviously people like that out there. Pretty early in the chapter we get to meet Seams mother, Aleigha, and it is clearly understood that his mother and him have a better relationship than his father and him had.
That was another learning point for me. It was like, "Oh, Okay! He didn't have a strong relationship with his dad.... He totally killed him.". I might just be a morbid thinker but that was my honest first impression. I couldn't help but feel like Aleigha was trying to make up for the gap that was in their relationship but once someone is gone there is only so much you can do.
I don't know about this guy, I am definitely suspicious of him. He
I feel like this is the type of clothing Seam would wear
sounds like a "pretty boy" so even if he is my long awaited "bad guy" I don't know if I can fall in love with him the way I want to. I might be rooting for the good guys at this point :/
Heartbreak here I come!
I noticed that the next chapter is from a girls point of view so I am a little excited to see what she is like. Seeing how both the authors are male I am extremely interested in how they wrote from a female point of view. I know that when I am writing I have a hard time with an opposite gender point of view because I write these long paragraphs or chapters and then its just like, "Nope. Nope. Nope. That is not what they should say." and I rewrite half of the chapter because it just isn't working.
I am going to make a list of questions to email the authors about. So far I have,
1. How do you pronounce Kull's name? 2. How do you write from an opposite gender POV and what troubles have you experienced by doing so. I am really looking forward to tomorrows chapter! Thanks for the read and I hope you come back and read along with me!
