Reviewing "The Red Deaths" First book in the Keys of Candor Series by Seth Ervin and Casey Eanes.
I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend and I am so glad you chose to come back and enjoy it with me :)
Today we will be reviewing Chap. 5 so grab your copies and lets read!
~~~~~~~25-ish minutes later~~~~~~~~~
I WAS RIGHT! I love being right! What am I talking about?
Hmm.... How to explain this without spoiling much.....
Seam and Hosp are evil.
My theory with the new High King Seam was that he wanted the throne and I had suspicions that he killed his father. I was right!
My theory with Hosp was that he couldn't be trusted and that he had a nasty personality. Yep, that was confirmed.
Chapter 5 was pretty intense. We got to learn about the bad guys master plot and a little bit about why he is crazy. Now here is the real concerning part.
I agree with Seam.
He found the way his father ruled the kingdoms to be unsatisfactory. He learned secrets that he shouldn't have and that made him have a false sense of importance. He thinks it is his job to finish the quest that someone else started a long time ago. I can see where he was misled.
He isn't wrong about his father though. It seems the old king was passive aggressive and didn't stand up for his realm, at least that is what it looks like when looking through Seam's eyes. I am sure that I would see something different if I looked through Grift's eyes.
There was a funny part in this chapter. Well, I found it funny because I thought about it a little too much. King Seam beats someone to death with a silver goblet. They had it coming but all I could think about was a grown man standing over an unconscious man repeatedly striking him with a goblet. If you don't find that funny then we have different opinions of humor :P
Given that this man tried to assassinate Seam for no real reason. Honestly if someone was going to try and kill him it should have been someone that worked for him. No one should have to put up with a crabby boss.
This chapter has me longing to read on ahead so pacing myself is gonna be tough. I should distract myself by writing tomorrows chapter for The Life of Soul Thief which is due by noon... Haha I might be a slacker.
Keep scrolling after the picture. There are more words below.
This is a direct quote from the book. The moment I read the description of the assassin I couldn't get this picture out of my mind. It is heavily edited but it was worth the work. |
Alright, now that all the excitement has died down (Or maybe it was clobbered to death with a goblet...) I need to tell you guys some domestic stuff.
Tomorrow is Mothers Day so I will be posting twice, once as a tribute to all the mothers out there doing what they do best and then again with tomorrows chapter review.
Tuesday I will have work so the chapter review will either be done before 5:30 PM or after 9 PM.
Wednesday I will be off doing a trip review of Dolly Wood in Pigeon Forge TN. However that article wont be posted until the end of the month when I am done with the book review :)
I have a lot of good articles in the works so don't feel like I am neglecting you ;)
Thanks for stopping by to read! Have a fantastic Mothers Day Weekend and I hope to see you tomorrow!
