A Chapter a Day: Day 4 "The Red Deaths" By Casey Eanes and Seth Ervin

                      A Chapter a Day: Day 4
Reviewing "The Red Deaths" Book 1 in the Keys of Candor Series by Seth Ervin and Casey Eanes.

Hello again! Today we are going to be reviewing chapter 4 so grab your copies and lets get reading!

~~~~~~30-ish minutes later~~~~~
I love Ewing. He has such a good personality.  He feels like that crazy Grandpa/Uncle that can be scary wise when he wants to be.
I am curious as to how long he will accompany Kull on his adventure and if the older veteran is going to be a member of the questing group.  I haven't really seen older people being a significant part of an adventure before so this is peaking my interest.
Technology + war and Veteran + adventure are two stereotypes that I feel might get broken.
This chapter was from Kull's point of view. We got to see a little bit more about how he copes with the tragedies of war. His train of thought was very rational in my opinion. He had an acceptable amount of panic and emotion driven thoughts but not to the point that it was frustrating for the reader. What do I mean? Well we have all read those books where a character is about to do something crazy because of emotions OR where the character does the complete opposite and curls up into a ball of stress and just ignores the world because they cannot cope internally with their feelings and life.
Kull's reactions and thought process was a healthy balance of reaction and emotion.
This chapter did introduce us to a new character named Adley who appears to be a love interest for Kull. Now I did previously mention that I would ship Willyn X Kull but I am smitten with Adley X Kull.
Adley is a nurse for the military, I think. That is the impression that I got though it is possible that I missed an official title somewhere along the way. The Red Deaths has introduced a second strong female character and I have to admit that it is refreshing to find
useful females in literature. My reading experiences with female characters haven't been very impressive lately...
The way things are going at the end of this chapter (Ewing and Kull are trying to skip out of town.) it looks like they are parting ways so I am interested to see if they will meet up later on in the story.
So far on "Team Good Guys!" we have Kull, Adley and Ewing.
On "Team (probably) Bad Guys!" we have Seam, Hosp and Willyn. Though I don't know that they are "bad" as much as they are misguided. Except Hosp. I have passed my judgment on him and he failed. Don't know why I just really dislike him, he is going to have to do something phenomenal like secretly have a pet dragon that he is going to use to wipe out all of the evils in the world for me to like him again.
That is all for this chapter! I feel like it was building up to something good so be sure to come back and read along with me!
