A Chapter a Day: Day 6
Reviewing "The Red Deaths" book one in The Keys of Candor Series by Seth Ervin and Casey Eanes.
Hello and Happy Mother's Day! I hope you have had a wonderful weekend but its time to reign it in and get ready for the dreaded Monday. I cannot think of a better way to do that than to read.
Grab your books and lets go read Chap. 6!
~~~~~30-ish minutes later~~~~~
What just happened.... Did you guys read that too?
So we have the bad guys, we have the war plot and the need for revenge and now we have... Morels? Morels sound like zombies.
Has anyone here ever played Slender: The Arrival? In Slender there are these creepy undead things that act exactly like the Morels from the book. I am serious, like they will stand and wait for you to get close and then its every man for himself!
Generally they look more undead than that but this was the best quality picture I could find.
This chapter left me with even more respect for Willyn, not just because of her brave actions but because of her loyal soldiers. It says a lot about a person when someone is willing to die for them.
She had 4 someones that died for her (not spoiling much... some but not much...) and that is really special.
I almost choked on my coffee when Grift didn't kill Hosp. So much in this book could have been avoided if he would have just hit him a little harder. Its one of those "You regret the things you didn't do in life" moments.
I almost did a video recording on here for you guys because I am having a hard time putting this into words.
I sat here saying "What?" for the majority of that 30-ish minutes.
It is killing me to not flip forward to chapter 7 and start connecting the dots. I can't review this chapter if I cannot mentally process it....
R.I.P. Private Morgan, Private Broach, Private Rote and Corporal Waden. You made the GroganLands proud today!
No I am not crying. This is liquid pride.
Since I cannot function mentally I am going to do an element list.
Elements that I love:
War
RomanceStruggle
Technology
Zombies
Traitors
and Anti Hero's
Amazingly this book has all of that.
The war doesn't need an explanation. That is obvious.
Romance between Kull and Adley (We hope, right ladies?)
Struggle, they are all experiencing their personal life struggles.
Technology, This goes way behind a motorcycle or a helicopter. They have stun guns, heat seeking explosives and all kinds of cool gadgets!
Zombies... Refer to the first paragraph.
Traitors... I got my eye on you Hosp!
I predict that Willyn is not going to be on "Team Bad Guy" for long. I think she is the anti hero I am looking for.
I am sorry that I couldn't form my words better, this just goes to show what a powerful story can do to the human mind. I would wait to review this later so I could give a more satisfying review but I have plans with my mother (Mother's Day and all...) so I wont actually be near a computer for the next 12 hours.
I promise to do much better for Chapter 7 tomorrow. :)
Someone please explain to me what just happened?
